Philadelphia, PA: The Democratic state representative for District 197 in this city praised Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris’s visit this Sunday to a restaurant in Philadelphia’s Latino neighborhood, where she was welcomed by voters from this Democratic stronghold.

«Vice President Harris visited the Puerto Rican restaurant Freddy & Tony’s today, where she met with voters in Northeast Philadelphia, comforted a crying baby, and thanked her supporters for their backing of her campaign,» said Representative Danilo Burgos to local media on the afternoon of Sunday, October 27.

«The path to victory passes through Philadelphia,» said Kamala, who also spoke about her support for Puerto Rico and how she plans to help the island, a U.S. territory. «As president, I will always be committed to the future of Puerto Rico and to ensuring that every community on the island has the opportunity not just to survive, but to thrive,» she asserted to the crowd gathered at the well-known restaurant.

The presidential candidate arrived at the venue accompanied by Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker and her assistant, Erin Wilson. In addition to the voters, they were welcomed by some local elected officials, mainly state representative Danilo Burgos, a Democrat from Philadelphia who chairs the Pennsylvania Legislative Latino Caucus. Burgos greeted and exchanged views on the local electoral situation with Kamala Harris.

The visit to an iconic location in the Puerto Rican community of Philadelphia highlights the importance of the nearly half a million Boricuas living in Pennsylvania, which is crucial for the upcoming presidential elections.

Finally, Danilo Burgos emphasized that in the current race for the White House, it can be said that all roads lead to Pennsylvania. «Harris’s path to victory is much easier with Pennsylvania than without it, although her campaign has more routes to victory than our opponent if we consider the swing states of this cycle.»
