In its first edition, Electoral Transition 1966-1996 was presented at a highly significant event at the National Library. Renowned guests included award-winning writer Diogenes Céspedes and the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader.

The book comprehensively analyzes Dr. Gómez Mazara’s distinctive style based on 30 years of political history in the Dominican Republic. Due to its quality and the care with which the events are presented, this work has become an academic reference, expertly synthesizing various electoral processes.

The text is the only one that profoundly reflects on the political conflicts of the so-called transition period to democracy in the Dominican Republic, covering events from the assassination of Rafael Leonidas Trujillo to the year 1996.

Dr. Gómez Mazara called on the Dominican diaspora in the United States to participate in the book “Electoral Transition 1966-1996” book launch in New York. He emphasized that the work is a genuine effort to ensure that younger generations become familiar with recent and not-so-recent past events that young politicians should not, under any circumstances, repeat in the current context.
