Santo Domingo, RD: Dominican communicator and lawyer José Martínez Brito revealed in an exclusive that the young American student of Indian descent, Konanki Sudiksha, did not die from an accidental drowning at the beach of the Riu República hotel in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, but was the victim of a crime in which the suspect did not act alone. Arrests could begin today, Thursday, March 13, 2025. The information was shared on the Dominican program «Esto no es Radio,» produced by popular communicator Santiago Esmerlin Santiago Matías García (Alofoke).

«After the information we’ve given, which has, sooner or later, coincided with the investigation,» Martínez Brito said in a brief video that we reproduce in this article. He assured us that the information came from a highly credible source, which he will not reveal now.

«Eh? What’s the source? What’s the source? If, in the end, the National Police and some state officials who should have information don’t have it, what’s the source? Our source will never be revealed. It doesn’t matter if the National Police try to make any arrests; our source will not be revealed,» the communicator repeated.

Martínez Brito added that time and the investigation will ultimately prove him and the «Esto no es Radio» team right, or they will be proven wrong. «But we are not going to reveal the source, nor will we obstruct the investigation, which is what many would like to happen,» he added.

José Martínez Brito also mentioned that today, they have new updates and still have much to reveal regarding the case of the young Konanki Sudiksha. The Indian-American student traveled to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, on March 3 with four friends from the University of Pittsburgh, where she is studying medicine. She disappeared after 4:15 a.m. on March 6, after she and her friends were seen in a security video entering the beach area of the Riu República Resort.

«I think the first thing we need to do is, inductively, for you to assume: what happened using logic? For example, three versions are given by the young Joshua Steven Riibe. Those versions he gave were exactly what placed him as a person of interest in this process,» said Martínez Brito, adding, «None of the versions verify that, after the nightclub, they went to the room. When a group of friends travels to a hotel and leaves the country, the norm is to save money. No matter how much money one has, the norm is to save. That’s why the most common thing is that at least two people share a room. And already, I’m being told that the person who slept with Konanki Sudiksha did not report to the police, even when they realized she hadn’t come to sleep. At the same time, and probably this also happened with the boy who claimed he stayed sleeping on the beach because it was the only way to establish why he didn’t sleep in the room. An excuse or the reality, we don’t know. I repeat,» he stated.

Martínez Brito also mentioned that in the images of a video released by the hotel, where the young people are seen walking towards the beach, Joshua Steven is holding a phone and recording. «That phone is a tracker for any technologist who sees it, except for the National Police, who don’t even seem to have tried to trace that phone, whether it’s connected or not. These phones work like an active GPS in case of loss,» he pointed out.

He revealed exclusively that Konanki Sudiksha’s phone did not appear alongside the clothes she removed to enter the water but was found alongside her shoes in a different location. «Somehow, it could be thought that the phone was hidden to prevent it from being traced because no one takes their phone to the beach. And he added that when the Dominican police want to find out where a stolen phone is, they figure it out, whether it’s on or off if it’s an iPhone» he said.

«Therefore, after explaining all of this to you, today was supposed to be a quiet day because the big news about this case will start today, and they can be explained and outlined tomorrow. But today, the arrests begin. For a crime,» he assured.

José Martínez Brito also claimed that the Dominican police tried to deny him when he started publishing undisclosed case details. However, he pointed out that he has not seen the police deny international media outlets such as Fox News and CNN, which were the first to report the confiscation of Joshua Steven Riibe’s passport.

«Magistrate Yeni Berenice, quick and efficient, seems to take the bull by the horns. She heads the investigation and states, «We are investigating the events beyond a simple accident,’ putting an order in the Public Ministry of La Altagracia province, where Punta Cana is geographically located,» emphasized José Martínez Brito.
