Nueva York:  The Executive Director of the Dominican Port Authority, Jean Luis Rodríguez, is leading the race to become the next Secretary General of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), according to a national poll conducted by Grupo INVESCA.

The survey, conducted on August 5, 2025, indicates that Rodríguez has garnered 47% of the grassroots support, followed by Gloria Reyes (25%), Alfredo Pacheco (23%), and Rafael Salazar (5%).

Rodríguez, who currently serves as President of the PRM Youth Wing and as a member of the party’s Executive Committee, confirmed at the end of May his intention to take part in the internal contest, after discussing his project with the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader.

“Obviously, when the deadlines and the law allow, I will be participating. For now, we are simply letting people know that this intention exists,” Rodríguez said.

With over 22 years of political experience, Rodríguez has held positions including President of the Youth Wing of both the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD) and the PRM, National Vice President, Deputy Secretary, and member of the Executive Committee.

“Generational renewal is more necessary than ever. Today I have the responsibility of serving from the Dominican Port Authority, but I also want to put my experience at the service of the party,” he stated.

The political leader expressed gratitude for the support he has begun to receive from his colleagues, stressing that his project aims to strengthen the PRM and Dominican democracy.
