The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced a faster review process for three psychedelic drug treatments aimed at serious mental health conditions, including treatment-resistant depression and PTSD.
The agency said the action follows a federal directive to accelerate access to certain therapies. The priority review vouchers could reduce review times from several months to as little as one or two months, although the step does not guarantee final approval.

The decision comes as psychedelic treatments gain new political, medical and investor attention in the United States, while federal law still classifies several of these substances as controlled drugs.
