The shooting occurred outside a building on Fulton Street in the Cypress Hills section. Surveillance cameras captured the moment the suspect opened fire on both men while they were standing beneath the elevated J train line, between Cleveland and Elton streets, near a group of people.
Video footage shows that after one of the victims approached the group, the attacker pulled out a firearm and fired multiple times, continuing the assault even as the victims remained motionless on the sidewalk. Both were transported in critical condition to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where Ureña Morán was later pronounced dead, according to police.
