Vuelta Larga, Imbert, Puerto Plata, DR: The newspaper El Faro Latino deeply mourns the passing of a friend, a brother, and a deeply cherished figure in the community of Vuelta Larga—Sony López Rivera—who passed away in the early hours of Sunday, December 1, 2024.
Recently, Sony waged a long and arduous battle for his life following a distressing and complicated hospitalization from which he was unable to recover. Despite showing signs of improvement, his illness ultimately claimed him.

Known as “El Zorro,” Sony had faced death on several occasions and had managed to overcome it. This time, regrettably, he lost the battle and embarked upon that enigmatic journey which—as we all know—each of us must undertake alone.
On behalf of El Faro Latino, we join in the prayers being offered by all those asking God to grant rest to his soul.
