San Francisco de Macorís, DR.- Presidential hopeful Francisco Javier García said the political alliances for 2028 will be built around the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), an organization he believes has the structure, governing experience and territorial presence needed to lead an opposition project.

García, a member of the PLD’s Political Committee, said the party is what he described as the “natural axis” for building a majority political proposal for the 2028 elections.

The PLD leader said the public is once again identifying with his organization and predicted that the party will return to power in the next presidential election.

He made the statements during a meeting with coordinators of his presidential project in Duarte province, as part of his activities to promote his aspirations within the PLD.

García also criticized the administration of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), which he blamed for what he considers growing disenchantment among sectors of Dominican society over the past six years.

The presidential hopeful attributed that discontent to deteriorating public services, rising debt, the increased cost of living and public insecurity. Those assessments reflect García’s position on the PRM administration.

Looking ahead to the electoral contest, he said the opposition will have to present a candidate capable of confronting the country’s problems and offering solutions to the population’s main demands.

Francisco Javier García also expressed confidence that he will prevail in the PLD’s internal primary scheduled for October 18 and later win the 2028 presidential election.

The leader said a possible victory for his project would mean the return of well-being for the Dominican population, a position he presented as part of his political proposal and presidential aspirations.
